Users
User accounts, invitations, and team membership in Lasius.
Users are the people who access and work within Lasius. Each user has their own account and can belong to multiple organizations and workspaces.
User Account
When you sign up for Lasius, you get:
- A unique user account
- A default private workspace
- Ability to join organizations and workspaces
User Context
Users operate within different contexts:

Joining Workspaces
Users can join workspaces through:
Invitation
- Receive an email invite from workspace admin
- Accept the invitation
- Get assigned a workspace role
Organization Membership
- When added to an organization
- Access to assigned workspaces within that org
User Capabilities
What users can do depends on their roles:

Profile Settings
Users can manage their:
- Display name
- Email preferences
- Notification settings
- API keys (for developer access)
- Connected accounts
Membership Types

| Internal Members | Full organization members who can be added to multiple workspaces | Inherit organization-level permissions |
| External Collaborators | Users from other organizations with workspace-specific access | Limited to assigned workspaces only |
| Guest Users | Temporary access for specific resources | Time-limited, read-only or execute-only |
| Service Accounts | Machine-to-machine API access | Scoped to specific workspaces/resources |
Multiple Memberships
A single user can be:
- Part of multiple organizations
- Member of many workspaces
- Have different roles in each context
This allows flexibility for consultants, contractors, or users working across teams.
